Terms and Conditions

1. Who we are, and what these terms cover

This website at joaofranciscopanta.github.io/sowur-shield and the Sowur Shield browser demo are operated by [TODO: registered company name] (“SoulStudio”, “we”, “us”), registered at [TODO: registered address], company number [TODO: company / VAT number], contactable at [TODO: contact email address].

By using this website or playing the demo, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

2. The demo is free, and unfinished

Sowur Shield is offered free of charge. We do not sell anything on this site, there is no in-game purchase, no subscription and no payment of any kind. You do not need an account.

What you are playing is a work-in-progress demo, not a finished commercial product. Features described on the home page reflect the current build and may change, break or be removed as development continues. We may change, suspend or withdraw the demo at any time without notice.

3. Your saved games

Saved games are stored by your own browser, on your own device — we hold no copy. That means:

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

5. Intellectual property

The Sowur Shield name, the game design, the code written by our team and the original artwork remain our property or that of our respective contributors.

Some artwork in this game is licensed from third parties and is not ours to sublicense. In particular, the game uses assets from the Sprout Lands pack by Cup Nooble, used with credit as that licence requires. You may not extract, redistribute or reuse those third-party assets from this game; if you want to use them, obtain them from their original author under their own licence. Attribution for third-party assets is maintained in the CREDITS file in our repository.

Playing the demo grants you a personal, non-exclusive, revocable licence to play it. It does not transfer ownership of anything.

If you believe material on this site infringes your copyright, contact us at [TODO: contact email address] with details and we will investigate and, where appropriate, remove it promptly.

6. Streaming, video and screenshots

You are welcome to stream, record and publish video or screenshots of Sowur Shield, including monetised videos, provided you credit the game and do not present it as your own work. This permission covers your own gameplay footage only, not the game files or the third-party assets described in section 5.

7. Third-party links and services

The site links to GitHub and loads fonts from Google Fonts. We are not responsible for the content or practices of third-party services. Their use is governed by their own terms and privacy policies, as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. No warranty

The site and the demo are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the demo will be uninterrupted, error-free, free of harmful components, or compatible with your particular browser or device.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, nor for loss of data (including lost saved games), loss of profits or business interruption, arising from your use of this site or the demo.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you are a consumer, you keep all the statutory rights granted to you by the consumer-protection law of your country — including, in Brazil, the Código de Defesa do Consumidor — and nothing here overrides them.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the project develops. The “last updated” date above will always show the current version, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [TODO: country/state of the registered company], and the courts of that jurisdiction have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you may also have the right to bring proceedings in your own country of residence.
